Shirley Gu is an associate of FitzGerald Lawyers. She has experience in commercial litigation, corporate and banking. She has advised on a variety of cross-boarder commercial matters such as enforcement of commercial arbitral award, trade disputes, and transactions in the banking & finance, retail and hotel sectors.
She comes from Harbin, Mainland China. Before studying laws at the University of Hong Kong in 2010, she studied at the School of Law in Tsinghua University for a year under the HKU Mainland admissions scheme. Her combination of Mainland Chinese and Hong Kong education and experience prepare her well for cross-boarder commercial practice.
Shirley has solid legal knowledge and is attentive to her work. She has advised clients ranging from start-up business to large Mainland SOEs and international conglomerates.
Shirley obtained her LLB (bachelor of laws) and PCLL (postgraduate certificate in laws) from the University of Hong Kong. She has practised law in Hong Kong since her qualification in January 2018. She passed the PRC National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Exam in 2018, and is in the process of obtaining PRC legal professional qualification.
Shirley speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
